Champaign-Urbana Dispatch Records
Champaign shares a dispatch center with the neighboring city of Urbana. METCAD (Metro Area Communications and Dispatch) handles 911 calls for both cities. Their office is at 1905 E. Main Street in Urbana. Call (217) 333-4348 for questions. METCAD has its own FOIA process for dispatch records, which can include call logs and dispatch information related to arrests.
If you need dispatch records tied to a specific arrest, you may want to file separate FOIA requests with both CPD and METCAD. The police department has the arrest report itself. Champaign Arrests in Champaign County
Champaign is the largest city in Champaign County. Arrests made in the city go through the Champaign County Circuit Court. The county seat is in Urbana, next door to Champaign. The state's attorney files charges, and court records become public once a case is filed. You can search court records through the Champaign County Circuit Clerk's office.
The Champaign County Sheriff runs the county jail. People arrested in Champaign who are held before trial go to the county jail in Urbana. The jail roster is available online.
